The aim of the campaign ‘Save Ukrainian steppes!’ is to stop the destruction of the last virgin steppe sites which are now under severe threat from forest planting. The site includes a regularly updated news section, vast library, even songs, poems and movies on steppe. A very important initiative of the campaign is launching an inventory of the remaining steppe sites in Ukraine. |

An on-line plant guide: open atlas of vascular plants of Russia and adjacent countries The site is the biggest open resource for identification of plant species of the flora of the former USSR. It accumulates an enormous number of quality photos of plants which were taken in different parts of their ranges, in diverse habitats, and at different stages of their life cycles. The project is open for corrections and additions, for finding solutions to the problems of species identification.
